These women and girls face enormous challenges and make a brave leap to be involved in one of the many programs at Sambhali Trust. Your gifts support their efforts.

Sambhali's holistic suite of programs offer marginalized women and girls with access to education, vocational training, healthcare, crisis services, safe spaces and community--together building a path to a better life for themselves and their children.

At Sambhali Trust Empowerment Centers, women and adolescent girls attend a vocational training program in sewing and embroidery, classes in Hindi, English, math, and self-defense, and weekly workshops on subjects ranging health and nutrition to business skills and women's rights. They join self-help (micro-finance) groups and graduates receive a sewing machine to continue their road to economic empowerment.

In the afternoons, Empowerment Centers are transformed into Primary Education Centers where children gain the skills they need to enter school, the ongoing support they need to succeed, and a joy of learning. The Centers also incorporate educational workshops, medical check-ups, and instruction in health and nutrition .

At Boarding Homes, girls from rural villages and urban poverty who began life headed towards early marriage and basic literacy are instead becoming the first educated women in their families. The boarding homes emphasize academic excellence along with developing self-esteem and leadership skills as avenues to greater independence.

The Nirbhaya ("Fearless") project supports survivors of gender-based violence through psychological and legal counseling and access to needed services. Through a community outreach and education campaign, the project takes action to prevent rape, domestic violence, sexual abuse and harassment, dowry harassment, early and forced marriage, and acid attacks.

Aadarsh ("Ideal") workshops are given in public and private schools. Children and teens learn what sexual abuse is and how to take action in response to abuse. Teens also learn about the physical, mental, and emotional changes during puberty,

The Garima ("Dignity") project creates a safe, affirming space for members of the LGBTQIA+ community who experience discrimination, violence, or family rejection; provides education and access to economic empowerment; and utilizes a community outreach campaign to increase acceptance.

Participants in Sambhali's programs gain access to the healthcare they need to thrive through the Sathi ("Compainion") program which provides access to health education, basic care, triage, and assistance navigating the healthcare system.

With your support, these brave women, girls, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community find their voices and determine their futures. Please join us by donating today. Thank you
